Arcade House
Rosello Architecture
A sequence of arches opening toward the landscape.
The house is conceived as a rhythmic structure of concrete vaults, where each arch becomes both support and frame. Rather than closing itself from the surroundings, the architecture unfolds through a series of openings that carefully capture fragments of the territory. Each span is shaped with intention, turning the landscape into a collection of framed moments.
Concrete gives the structure a quiet solidity. Its weight anchors the house to the ground, while the repetition of the arches introduces a calm and measured cadence. As one moves through the spaces, the rhythm of the structure reveals changing views—distant hills, passing clouds, shifting light—each one held briefly within the curve of a vault.
The openings are not identical; each is oriented to a particular direction, a specific view, a certain quality of light. One arch may hold the distant horizon, another the shadow of a tree, another the slow movement of the sky at dusk. In this way, the architecture becomes a device for observing the landscape, transforming the act of looking into a spatial experience.
Light enters softly through the curved thresholds, sliding along the textured surfaces of the concrete and emphasizing the depth of each opening. The interiors remain calm and grounded, while the exterior world is constantly present through the framed perspectives.
Here, the house is not only a place to inhabit but also a sequence of thresholds between shelter and landscape—an architecture where every arch captures a moment, and every moment becomes part of the dwelling.
